Unfortunately, there is no option to limit the excerpt in categories pages. I can provide a hard code solution, but it will require adding it every time you update the theme
Unfortunately, we don’t have Child Theme of the theme, but we have many of our clients using the child theme following the instructions here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

I’m very sure that this problem because of your caching plugins. Please disable all cache plugins, check your cache file manually because sometimes they need to be removed manually, and ask your hosting provider to clear your site cache (if they have this option activated).
If the problem still exists, I would need your FTP credentials to check everything.

You can follow the tutorials in the WP-Rocket docs to set up the plugin. Actually, we didn’t test this plugin with our theme so we can’t assure its 100% compatibility. I’ll ask my development team to check it and get back to you soon.

Thank you @techsmurfy for your report, we know that there is a problem with our Views Meta and cache plugins and our Development team always working hard to enhance all theme’s aspects especially this part! In the meantime, there is no clear solution, unfortunately!
We can’t assure that all plugins would work perfectly with our theme since there are thousands of plugins, but as I mentioned, we always keep our client’s comments close and note everything down to consider during our implementations.
I can give you a piece of advice, I highly recommend purchasing and using WP Rocket plugin (I’m personally using it), you would fall in love with this plugin and will resolve all Cache and Page Speed’s headache for you.
This is a known issue because of the latest updates by Google and our development team already working on it and will publish an update that will fix this issue very soon.
